OOOPPPSS....

I finally figured out how to upload pictures to my blog and then couldn't figure out how to write about them. SO here goes......

Before and after our honeymoon I have had the opportunity to work along side Harold on several projects. Harold loves his tools!!!! He put in a retaining wall in front of our home in Running Springs. Next summer we will work on the back wall (the yard has been eroding away).

Harold has a cute 3 bedroom rental in California city. I was able to "learn on the job" how to put up a fence; replace windows; put wood siding up on the house; and give it a fresh coat of paint!

My next blog I will share picks of trips I have taken so far this year. I bought a new sewing machine but my projects are still on my retirement to do list.

My life is different but I am very happy!!!

I am now Mrs Harold Jones!

January 15, 2010

Harold and I wanted to start the new year together. We chose a garden in Running Springs that looks out over the valley. The weather could not be more perfect for January.

Walking down the stairs, instead of an aisle fits this mountain girl and boy.

Only Love can mend broken hearts!

The sweet words that were spoken by our church official, were directed to our personal situation in life.
Please don't feel hurt you weren't invited...There was just Harold and I , two witnesses and the photographers. As intimate as possible was our plan.

No flowers were blooming but a Beautiful view was ours to treasure.
Heavenly Father has led us together so we may laugh, cry and grow old together.

My life as of Dec 2009

My life has had major changes in the last 3 years and 2010 will take on more. My husband of 36 years, John Thomas Hayes passed away in November 2007 from brain cancer. Sometime in your life you know as a couple someone will be called home to Heavenly Father before the other spouse. When that comes to a reality, your life as you have known it comes to an end also. It just becomes different and and sometimes weird. Heavenly Father is constantly guiding and encouraging me in the right direction.

This past April, Harold Jones came into my life. He had just lost his wife JoAnn of 35 years. John and I went to school with Harold and JoAnn in Big Bear. In Jr High I had a crush on Harold and John had a crush JoAnn in high school. Over the years we would see each other at reunions, or at Harold's pool center. Even visited in each others homes. We met up on face book and have been a source of great comfort to each other. I am grateful for our friendship!

I am the person I have become because of special grandparents, a loving mother, dear husband and children, a gracious Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ. The teachings I have received over the years from the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has helped me be a better person.

Thanksgiving

Denise with the Somozas (Alvaro, Heather, Crystal, Jacob, John); Erik Hayes 21; Lamms (Tony, Crystal, Ashlynn, Payge); Petersons (Nate, Shelly, Owen); Markers (Jeff, Kelly, Dallin, Emily, Bryce) Nov 2009.
I was able to rent a six bedroom home so they could all bond together...and they did. Softball, basketball, board games, talent show by cousins and grandchildren and food... lots of food! We even woke up to snow on Saturday morning. Out came the gloves and sleds!
